Understanding the Low Fragmentation Heap at Blackhat

Posted by Chris Valasek on July 21, 2010 at 12:17 AM EDT.

Hello internet-sphere, Chris Valasek here. I just wanted to announce that I’ll be speaking at Blackhat USA 2010 this year in Las Vegas, NV. My topic is Understanding the Low Fragmentation Heap, which specifically covers heap memory management in Windows 7.

It will be an overview of all the data structures, algorithms and security measures that the Windows 7 heap has to offer. I will also be discussing some exploitation techniques when specifically dealing with the Low Fragmentation heap.

If you have any interest in Windows memory internals or are curious about how Window 7 has changed its memory management please stop by Thursday July 29 and follow me on twitter @nudehaberdasher.
