Posted by Leslie Horacek on April 01, 2011 at 7:26 PM EDT.
On Thursday we released our latest IBM X-Force 2010 Trend and Risk Report. As a part of this release we wanted to share a bit more insight into several areas that we think are fascinating. Bryan Casey, our Market Segment Manager took advantage before the report was released to interview some of our contributors. You can read the complete interviews as highlighted on the IBM Institute for Advanced Security website. While you’re there, check out the interactive data sets we have provided for further understanding.
The first interview occurred with Tom Cross, Manager - IBM X-Force Strategy and Threat Intelligence. Tom provides his perspective on why 2010 was such a roller coaster ride for vulnerability research and why 2010 set a “record high” number of vulnerabilities disclosed publically.
The second interview occurred with Ory Segal – Manager and Security Products Architect for IBM Rational. Ory tells us about some of the improvements we’ve been seeing in the security of the software our customers are developing as they adopt better development and quality practices.
Earlier in the month Bryan also interviewed trend report contributor David Merrill, STSM, IBM Chief Information Security Office regarding Mobile Security risks. David explains to us some of the intricacies happening today with Mobile Security.
